Note : Back to our regularly scheduled programming, and it's a double whammy, both a nice Christmas film, and also featuring Linnea Quigley. This is the notorious slasher that got banned far and wide for scaring kids and making Santa evil. It's a straightforward story with some unexpected psychological examination of the killer, and a few imaginative deaths (Linnea Quigley, in particular, gets one). Oh, and the director is the guy who created Grizzly Adams.
This remaster is a mixed bag. On one hand, the colors, contrast, and grain are all nice, punchy blacks, etc., on the other hand, it's quite dirty, with a lot of dust, and, perhaps most notably, the sequences originally cut that were reinserted into this uncut remaster are upscales from what looks like SD. They're not horrible quality, but the change is noticeable. Still, it's the only way to see this uncut, and I think it's worth it.
